Membership of the Soil
Association is available to individuals, families and businesses who
support the
aims of the association
The Soil Association offers:
- meetings with guest speakers
- field trips to organic properties
- special events, workshops, conferences
- library of books, videos and magazines
- periodical newsletter: ‘The Living Soil’
Current membership fees are:
- $40 Single
- $50 Family
- $20 Student/Pensioner
- $100 Corporate (3 copies of the magazine)
The pro-rata rate (half price for the remainder of the
year) applies to new members joining after 1st September.
Membership applications from 1st January
will be valid until 1st March of the following year.

a) To unify the efforts of those
interested in and
striving for a full understanding of the inter-relationship of the
health of soil, plant, animal and man.
(b) To create an informed public opinion upon this
relationship.
(c) To promote, encourage and assist research
concerning the biological relations of the soil, that is to say, the
qualities which make for its fertility and the good health of plants
grown on it. and which thereby make for the good health of man.
(d) To promote, encourage and assist research
concerning those methods of handling, transporting, storing, marketing
and preparing for consumption of foodstuffs most likely to ensure that
such foodstuffs are consumed without loss of the properties which are
conducive to good health.
(e) To promote, encourage and assist research
concerning methods of utilising organic materials (including sewage,
town refuse and other waste materials) for the purpose of maintaining
and improving soil fertility.
(i) To do all other such things as are coincidental
to the attainment of the above objects or any one of them.
